The good thing about Orlando Airport is that it's
conveniently located to be just three miles or so from
downtown Orlando, so you can pretty much go to the most
frequented and popular tourist attraction in a little over
an hour or so. As a plus, there are a lot of options you can
take to get there, as well. A taxi downtown will cost you
about US$35 while a shuttle will take you there at about
half the price (you will just have to share it with several
other passengers, though). If you're really scrimping for
cash, though, you can make use of the several Lynx buses
that ply the route at a mere US$1.50. If, however, you
already have a hotel reservation, then it's all the better
since most hotels offer complimentary shuttle service to and
from the airport.
For those who can't wait to visit the more famous attraction
spots of Orlando, Disney World Resort offers a private coach
to bring their guests there. Advanced booking even allows
you to bypass the baggage claim since your baggage will
automatically be brought to the resort. If you are not
staying at a resort but still wants to go directly to Disney
World, then a taxi is your easiest option. The fare from the
airport to Disney World costs around US$60. You can also try
the direct shuttle to the amusement park. There's a bonus
for those who avails the round trip ticket as it is much
cheaper than the normal charge per passenger.
You can also take a limousine from the airport to wherever
you want to go, and they too are charged by the hour. If you
would rather rent your own car, then Orlando has a large car
rental market so you have a wide range of choices. There are
at least six car rental booths located on airport grounds.
There are also several other car rental companies located at
the airport on the ground transportation level, but there
are free shuttle services from the airport that will take
you to and fro. Finally if you're planning, to go out of the
Orlando area directly from the airport, then there are a
number of shuttles that service popular destinations around
Florida. These shuttles are much less frequent, so booking
beforehand is advised. All means of transportation are
located on the ground transportation level on the A and B
sides of the Main Terminal.
